There are certain initiatives taken by the EPFO for the members in order to give better services such as launch of the Pensioner’s Portal on its site and bringing up of novel facilities for UAN-Aadhaar connecting for the ease of PF members. Some more of such initiatives are as under:
1. View Pension Passbook Service for retired people
Now EPFO has come up with a facility for the retired people. They can now check their pension with the help of Umang App. All the members need to do is tap the ‘View Passbook’ button and enter the PPO Number and along with the Date of Birth. This will trigger an OTP on the enlisted number after which the data is shown.
2. Retired person’s Portal at EPFO site
Each one of the retired people of EPFO who are entitled for pension may get the details of their benefits related to pension such as annuity payment details, order number, passbook data and also other related data like submission of the life certification of the beneficiary. It is useful to know the status of their life as it likewise gives the reason to stoppage the annuity.
3. EPFO individuals to be educated about commitments not deposited by their employers
EPFO will now bring it to the notice of its individuals in case the employers have not deposited the contributions. The individuals, who have enrolled their number or email ID against individual UAN, will be alerted about it by method for SMS or email.
4. EPFO individuals to be permitted to increase or reduce PF investments into stocks
In an offer to give better profits for their contributions towards EPF, 5 crore individuals will now have the alternative to increase or reduce PF investments into stocks through the trade exchange funds (ETFs) in the current budgetary year.
5. Launch of e-Nomination office
